The jack fruit plants we sell are home grown seedlings. They are available in different sizes from 10" to 24 inch depending on the avaialbility. Trees grown from seeds are not always identical to the parent tree.

 

The jackfruit tree is well suited to tropical lowlands, and its fruit is the largest tree-borne fruit, reaching as much as 35 kg (80 lb) in weight, 90 cm (35 in) in length, and 50 cm (20 in) in diameter. The jackfruit tree can produce about 100 to 200 fruits in a year. The jackfruit is a multiple fruit, composed of hundreds to thousands of individual flowers, and it is the fleshy petals that are eaten.

Jackfruit is cultivated for its ready to eat fruit either fresh or dried. The fruit is soft and easily digestible.  It is also called Phanas tree. 
The flesh of the jackfruit is starchy and fibrous and is a source of dietary fiber. The flavor is comparable to a combination of apple, pineapple, mango, and banana
The jackfruit is well adapted to the hot humid tropics. Jackfruit grows well in the humid subtropical climat. Optimum growth and production occurs in continuously warm areas.
 
 
Fruting Season:  Summer and fall. Some fruit may ripen at other times, but usually not in winter and early spring.

The seeds can made into variety of snacks, Roasted or boiled for ready to eat snacks and can be added to different recipes.  Jackfruit seeds are very rich in protein and nutritious. 

It is a tropical fruit tree. Can be grown in container. However in colder weather, the fruit tree can brough inside during cold weather.

It is not uncommon to find a few brown/bent leaves upon arrival. This is normal and does not affect the plant in any way. Just prune off the affected leaves and your plant will be just fine.
